How long do solar installations take?
Residential solar installations are typically completed in 1–3 days, depending on system size and complexity. Commercial solar projects can take several weeks to a few months, accounting for design, permitting, equipment procurement, and installation.
Is renewable energy worth it in Alberta?
Yes, solar is very effective in Alberta, even with our long winters. Alberta actually has one of the sunniest climates in Canada, averaging over 300 days of sunshine per year.
Solar panels are designed to work in cold weather, and in fact, they often perform more efficiently in cooler temperatures than in extreme heat. Snow usually slides off panels because of their angle, and the bright reflection from snow can even boost energy generation. What warranties do you offer?
We back our work with a 12-year craftsmanship warranty and 5 years on workmanship. In addition, most of the solar equipment comes with manufacturer warranties of up to 10 years, along with performance guarantees of up to 25 years. This means your system is designed to last and deliver reliable savings over the long term.

What other work does Evalence do?
We're more than just a solar installer in Edmonton and Calgary! We call ourselves a renewables company because we're interested in everything renewables and green infrastructure. This includes EV charging, solar systems, battery bank storage, and energy management for residential and commercial.
Are government solar incentives available?
The most commonly used incentive is the Greener Homes Loan Program. This program allows you to bundle up to $40,000 of project costs into a 0% loan.
The Clean Energy Improvement Program can also be utilized to finance residential solar projects. The program is distributed by Alberta municipalities for loans up to $50,000 of projects costs with repayment terms up to 20 years. Interest rates vary between municipalities, but range between (2%-4%).
How long do solar panels last?
Commercial and residential solar panels are highly durable and typically come with warranties of 25 years or more. With regular maintenance, panels can continue generating electricity efficiently well beyond their warranty period, providing decades of reliable clean energy.
