Once you've approved the quote, we get started right away. While an electrical engineer is drafting your solar design (Single Line Diagram, Solar Layout), a technician will schedule an appointment with you to complete an in-person home assessment. The purpose of this visit is to verify the home electrical components, roof quality, and to take the measurements required to ensure your conceptual solar design will fit the reality of your roof vent locations.

Following the design process, we apply for the electrical and microgeneration permits. The permitting process generally takes 2-3 weeks. After approval is granted, we schedule your installation and get ready to delete your electricity bill!

Residential Solar Assessment and Quote Process

Solar is more than just a financial investment in your home and future - it's also a huge time investment. We understand you will have questions about solar production, solar irradiance, panel positions, and even our recommendations for solar panels and racking. The process of applying for and receiving the greener homes grant and loan program can also take time to comprehend. Luckily, we're here for you. Our team is well versed in this process, and can bring clarity to give you the confidence to proceed.

Our approach to quoting is generally quite simple. With your address, and electricity bills we can generate a comprehensive quote with pricing, electricity production, and 3D renderings of your home after the installation. We send this directly to your inbox, and allow you time to assess - no high pressure sales meetings here. When you're ready, we can have a discussion and help you get started on your renewable journey.

The Residential Solar Installation Process

This is the part where we execute on our promises. Our team makes the residential solar installation process seamless. All we ask from you, is access to the working areas in your home on installation days. Thats it.

Procurement & Preparation

High performance athletes have strict training regiments and pregame rituals. Our team is no different. Prior to your installation, we procure and prepare the materials required to have a successful installation. We come up with a pre-job plan, and ensure that everyone on the team knows their role.

Safety is non-negotiable with our installations. Every person on your roof will have fall arrest training, and be tied off... always. Morning safety meetings prior to work beginning are another way we stay grounded and ensure our team is aware of the potential job hazards before something goes wrong.

Installation Days

Our team comes prepared to complete most installations in 2-3 days. Mornings start early in the summer. This allows us to avoid the hottest hours of the day on top of the roof where temperatures can reach up to 75 Degrees!

Day 1 is typically reserved for preparing the roof mounts, racking, and soladeck. On day 2, we install the solar panels on the roof and connect into your home panel.

Deleting Your Electricity Bill

Before you can harness the power of the sun, the installation must be inspected. We ensure that everything is expedited to allow for the inspection as soon as possible following installation.

Solar Offset Credits

Solar offset credits (carbon credits) can be a lucrative way to improve your residential solar payback period. Our team can support by connecting you with our partner - Solar Offset. This process is quite easy and requires minimal work to receive the yearly credit allowance.

How are carbon credits calculated?

Carbon credits for residential solar projects correlate with the amount of electricity generated annually by your solar system. This can be estimated based on your solar design size, but is calculated yearly by downloading production data from your micro inverters. The APS Microinverters we typically recommend work great for this program because the data can be downloaded with just a few clicks. We can help you register your system so you can get the full benefits of installing solar and improve your return on investment.
